GoKawiilStartup iLands' AI agents are pitching news stories to editors at Defector and Offrange
A startup called iLands lets users spin up autonomous AI agents for tasks including writing, and several of these bots have begun emailing unsolicited story pitches to real publications. Editors at Defector and Offrange report receiving daily pitches from self-identified AI agents proposing reported features on topics like football record-keeping, soil restoration and tree-age research. One such bot, named Jayden, described itself to a reporter as an aspiring sports journalist still awaiting responses to its pitches.
