GoKawiilHoshi Shinichi Award continues honoring AI-assisted short fiction in Japan
Japan's Nikkei Hoshi Shinichi Literary Award has repeatedly recognized short stories written with varying degrees of AI assistance since 2022, including works by Kamome Ashizawa, Toh Katagiri, Shamizui, En Shijima and Rino Takinouchi. Organizers of the 13th edition, which drew 2,107 entries, classified 491 as partly AI-created and said three of four general-division winners had used AI somewhere in their process.
