Led Matrix

Developer builds physical sunflower-pattern LED display using phyllotaxis code

A hobbyist coder wrote a simple algorithm to reproduce the phyllotaxis pattern—the spiral arrangement seen in sunflowers and succulents—by placing points along a rotating radial line using the golden ratio. They then Voronoi-tessellated the resulting point cloud and used CadQuery, a Python-based CAD library, to convert the cell edges into 3D-printable geometry, building a physical LED matrix with an individually addressable RGB LED in each cell.
