Apple released version 4.5 of its Apple Sports app, adding coverage for five soccer competitions: Brazilian Serie B, English League One, English League Two, Norwegian Eliteserien, and the UEFA Nations League. The update also improves Live Activities so users can see key game statistics during breaks in play across supported leagues.
Apple's Dynamic Island, introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro to house Face ID sensors alongside the camera, displays Live Activities for timers, navigation, music, sports scores and supported third-party apps. Users can check and enable Live Activities per app under Settings > Apps, and ensure they appear on the Lock Screen via Settings > Face ID & Passcode.
Apple's iPhone 18 Pro physically shrinks the Dynamic Island by moving some Face ID components under the display, freeing up extra screen space. That space is now used to show more detail in a second Live Activity, such as a timer's remaining time instead of just an icon, while the device can also run three Live Activities at once, up from two.

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max retain the design and aluminum build of last year's models but introduce a variable-aperture main camera with four selectable stops plus manual controls for shutter speed, white balance and focus. The phones also ship in four colors including a new glacier blue and burgundy, with color-matched glass backs, and a smaller Dynamic Island that can now display three Live Activities simultaneously.
