GoKawiilAdvanced Photonics Coalition releases standards for high-volume optical component manufacturing
The Advanced Photonics Coalition announced a set of new standards at the PECC Summit intended to enable high-volume manufacturing of optical networking equipment. The move comes as AI data centers push past copper's bandwidth limits and as optical component makers like Lumentum report being sold out of key parts through 2028-2029, partly due to supply constraints on materials like indium phosphide.
