Amazon has begun discounting Apple's latest Mac lineup ahead of fall Prime Day, with the new M6 Mac mini seeing cuts of nearly $150 to reach all-time lows and the 2026 Mac Studio dropping $199. M5 MacBook Air models are seeing roughly $200 discounts across configurations, while a 14-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro with 2TB storage is down $500 to $2,699.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro will be 'significantly lighter' due to miniaturized and rearranged internal components. The laptop is expected to feature an OLED touchscreen display and existing M5 chips rather than the M7 chips anticipated for early 2027, with a launch reportedly planned for next month alongside a new OLED iPad mini.
Amazon has discounted the 13-inch MacBook Air with M5 chip and 512GB storage from $1,299 to $1,099 as part of its October Prime Day sale. The 15-inch model with the same storage capacity is also discounted, dropping from $1,499 to $1,299.
Bordeaux-based developer Vincent, known as @VynseDev, launched a site called Brand My Mac to auction off ten sticker spots on a 14-inch MacBook Pro he hasn't yet purchased. Bidders pay a 20% deposit for spots priced €125 to €400, with winning logos vinyl-cut and stuck to the laptop lid alongside a link on the project page. The auction has already drawn over €7,000 across roughly 118 bids, well above the machine's €2,529 price tag.
