Apple's coming macOS 27 (Golden Gate) update will support MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with Apple silicon going back to 2020, but it will not run on any Intel-based Mac. Since Apple stopped selling Intel MacBooks in 2021, those machines will only get limited security patches on their last compatible macOS version going forward.
Homebrew has released version 7.0.0, its first major update since 6.0.0, adding faster installations and upgrades, stronger sandboxing for casks, a native macOS app, built-in vulnerability checks with an advisory database, and greater concurrency for downloads and installs. The release also drops support for macOS 10.15 Catalina and downgrades Intel Macs to Tier 3 support status.
