Mahershala Ali has publicly commented on Marvel Studios' failure to bring its long-delayed 'Blade' reboot to the screen, offering pointed criticism of how the project was handled. The film, which Ali was attached to star in, was reportedly shelved after years of development troubles at Marvel Studios.
Mahershala Ali says the physical preparation Marvel financed for his role as Blade, a project that was ultimately scrapped, wasn't wasted effort. He spent over a year in intense training for the Daywalker part, and he has said that conditioning proved useful when he worked on another film.
Following Marvel's stalled Blade reboot, star Mahershala Ali and director Bassam Tariq have teamed up on a new film called Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film follows a devout Muslim hitman who must raise three children, including a newborn, after his wife's death while his violent past resurfaces.
