Nintendo has released Fortune's Weave, a new Fire Emblem title that adopts the open-ended structure recently seen in Zelda, Mario Kart World, and Donkey Kong Bananza. The game lets players choose between four hero routes before converging into a final act, allowing them to switch storylines freely and even combine character stats across playthroughs to build powerful hybrid units.
Nintendo released a free update for Mario Kart World that converts ten hidden SNES Super Mario Kart courses—including Choco Island, Mario Circuit, and Ghost Valley—into fully racable Versus mode tracks. These courses previously existed in the open world only as exploration and P-Switch mission areas, and now feature ground-level question blocks matching the original SNES power-up style. The update also adds two new routes to the elimination-based Knockout Tour mode.
Nintendo will hold its second Direct of the week at 10AM ET on September 9, streaming on YouTube and the Nintendo Today! app, running roughly 45 minutes and centered on Switch 2 titles arriving this winter. A follow-up Nintendo Treehouse stream lasting about 110 minutes will show gameplay footage from featured games afterward.
