Mark Quinn, former VP of operations and responsible AI at Silicon Valley startup DeepScribe, lost his job after GPT-4's 2023 release made the large supervisory team he was hired to build largely unnecessary. He later built a custom AI 'career buddy' that evaluated job postings, drafted outreach messages, refined his resume and rehearsed interview answers, which he credits with helping him secure his next role.
