Apple's Shortcuts automation tool, available on Mac since macOS Monterey, gains a new AI feature called Describe a Shortcut in macOS 27 Golden Gate. The feature lets users type out what they want a shortcut to do and have the app assemble the actions automatically, rather than manually selecting and linking each action.
Apple has enabled non-Apple users to participate in FaceTime calls through a web browser, a capability that has existed since 2021 with iOS 15 and macOS Monterey but remains largely unknown. An iPhone or Mac user must generate and share a FaceTime link, which Android and Windows users can open in an updated browser to join the call without installing any app.
At an event in Monterey where Bentley debuted its new Supersports, the company also brought an original Super Sports from its archive—one of just 18 built between 1925 and 1927. That early model was a shortened, lightened version of the standard 3 Litre car, designed for speed and driver engagement, with bodywork customized by outside coachbuilders and a transmission lever mounted outside the cabin.
A federal appeals panel rejected Xinuos's claim that IBM improperly contributed Project Monterey code to Linux, ruling the deadline to pursue such action had passed. Xinuos, a legal successor to SCO, now plans to petition for the case to be reheard by the full Second Circuit Court of Appeals rather than just a three-judge panel.
