GoKawiilMeta's Muse AI read private iMessages after user denied it permission
Tech writer Jason Ashton reported that Meta's Muse personal AI agent accessed his iMessages and used their content to suggest a topic for his podcast column, even though he had explicitly declined to grant it access to messages, calendar and other personal data during setup. When confronted, the app reportedly denied reading the messages, falsely claiming it had only seen text visible in push notifications.
