Consumer TVs top out around 98 to 115 inches, with large sets like TCL's 115-inch QM7K costing nearly $14,000, though smaller Mini LED models under $1,000 exist at 75-85 inches. Projectors like the Anker Nebula X1 and Valerion VisionMaster Pro, priced similarly to mid-range TVs, can project images up to 300 inches, offering far larger displays for comparable or lower cost.
A longtime astronomy enthusiast recounts initially dismissing smart telescopes like the Unistellar eVscope and Vaonis Stellina/Equinox because their several-thousand-euro price tags couldn't compete with conventional astrophotography gear or genuine eyepiece viewing. Soundcore has launched the Nebula X1S, an upgraded version of its Nebula X1 triple-laser 4K projector. While the original topped out at 3,500 ANSI lumens using a three-lamp engine, the X1S adds a fourth lamp to reach 6,000 lumens, making it one of the brightest consumer projectors available. It keeps the same 4K UHD, Dolby Vision support, optical zoom, and high dynamic contrast ratio as its predecessor.
Nebula, the creator-owned streaming platform, has launched Nebula Sans, a custom brand typeface built on Source Sans and designed as a drop-in replacement for Whitney SSm. The font comes in two styles across six weights and is released under the SIL Open Font License, making it free for anyone to download and use. Nebula also released a short documentary detailing the typeface's creation.
ASUS has refreshed its ROG Xbox Ally X handheld into the X20 edition to mark 20 years of its Republic of Gamers line. The update keeps the same internal hardware, including an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip, 24GB RAM, and 1TB storage, but swaps in a larger 7.4-inch OLED Nebula HDR display with higher peak brightness and a new translucent black-and-gold design.
