Newegg is selling the Acer Nitro XV270U, a 27-inch 2560x1440 IPS gaming monitor with a 270Hz refresh rate, for $179.77, down from its $329.99 list price. The panel supports 99% sRGB coverage, 250 cd/m² brightness, a 1ms response time, AMD FreeSync Premium, and Acer's VisionCare eye-comfort features.
Acer's new Nitro XV273U F5 is a 27-inch IPS gaming monitor capable of 540Hz refresh rate at its native 2560x1440 resolution, and can push to a 1,000Hz mode when running at 1280x720. It also supports Adaptive-Sync, HDR 600 brightness, and wide-gamut color, positioning it as an IPS alternative to OLED for competitive gamers.
Acer announced eight new monitors ahead of IFA 2026, headlined by the Predator XB253Q U1, a 24-inch screen that hits 1080p resolution at a 1,000Hz refresh rate, improving on an earlier CES model limited to 720p. The lineup also adds curved and Mini LED options across the Predator, Nitro and ProDesigner families, including a cheaper 34-inch curved Nitro display and a QD-OLED Predator X32 V3.
Ring is rolling out a new default encryption system called TAKE (Throw Away the Key Encryption) across its video doorbell and camera lineup worldwide. Footage is encrypted with keys that rotate every five minutes, and Ring can only temporarily access those keys via an isolated AWS Nitro Enclave to power features like Smart Alerts before permanently deleting its copies within 24 hours. Users can still opt for full end-to-end encryption instead, though that disables cloud-based processing features.
