Nvidia has released Personal AI Router (PAIR), a free open-source tool that finds compatible computers on a home network and links them together to run local AI inference tasks through apps like Ollama and LM Studio. It supports Nvidia RTX 20-series and newer GPUs, RTX Pro and DGX Spark systems, plus Apple M4 chips or later, and only taps machines when they're idle so it doesn't interfere with other use.
Nvidia has detailed two variants of its Arm-based N1X chip that will power RTX Spark laptops arriving next month. The higher-end version pairs a 6144-core Blackwell RTX GPU with a 20-core Grace CPU and up to 128GB of unified memory, while the scaled-down laptop version uses a 5120-core GPU, an 18-core CPU, and up to 32GB of memory. Devices from Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and MSI are expected to launch in October, alongside mini PCs like Microsoft's Surface RTX Spark Dev Box.
Nvidia announced a deal to purchase Hugging Face, the widely used open-source hub for AI models, datasets and developer tools, for roughly $12.93 billion. CEO Jensen Huang said the platform will stay open to all developers regardless of hardware or cloud provider, and that Nvidia compute won't be a requirement to use it.
