Researchers demonstrate single-molecule spin-photon interface using rare-earth molecular qubit
Scientists report a solid-state spin-photon interface built from a single molecule rather than a semiconductor defect such as the diamond nitrogen-vacancy centre. The work builds on prior single-molecule platforms like pentacene triplets and chromium(IV) complexes, extending the approach to molecular rare-earth complexes that combine optical readout with spin control at the single-molecule level.
