Georgia Tech researchers built ORISA, a tool that scans a device's working memory for remnants of deleted AI chatbot conversations. In tests using the ChatterUI Android app loaded with 100 fictional facts that were later deleted, ORISA recovered 26 of them from memory, more than the 14 the AI assistant itself could still access.

Georgia Tech researchers built a forensic tool called ORISA that reconstructs deleted conversations from on-device AI assistants running on Android phones. In a test using the ChatterUI app and a fictional assistant fed 100 facts, ORISA recovered 26 facts after deletion, compared with only 14 the assistant itself could still access before being wiped.
