Blizzard revealed at BlizzCon 2026 that Overwatch's Season 5, launching next month, will add Doctrine, a vampire-themed support hero who buffs allies and drains enemies through an alternate-fire ability tied to his kit. Two existing heroes are also getting substantial gameplay reworks alongside his debut, continuing the game's 10th-anniversary push to add 10 new heroes this year.
Blizzard Entertainment employees represented by the Communications Workers of America have voted to approve their first union contract, ending roughly two years of negotiations. The agreement covers about 1,900 workers and includes wage increases, hybrid work terms, disability and remote-work accommodations, expanded severance, and a requirement that Blizzard bargain over AI use in the workplace.

A source cited by South Korean outlet Chosun Daily says Blizzard is nearing an agreement to let Nexon develop new StarCraft games, with the deal possibly also covering publishing rights for a new Overwatch mobile title. The exact form of the StarCraft project is unconfirmed—it could be a revival of the shelved shooter StarCraft: Ghost or a true sequel to StarCraft II. Nexon reportedly beat out other Asian publishers, including Krafton, to secure the rights last year.
