LM Studio has integrated Z.ai's newly released GLM-5.3-Flash model into its Bionic agent platform, adding multimodal image input and a 1 million-token context window. The company says the model outperforms its predecessor, GLM-5.2, while costing roughly 9-10 times less to run, and it's served from US-based servers with zero-data-retention enabled by default.
Z.ai has confirmed it is the company behind Ox Alpha, the anonymously launched open-weight model that topped OpenRouter benchmarks over the weekend. Z.ai says Ox Alpha is the newest entry in its GLM model family, built for coding, long-running agentic tasks, and workflows mixing text and visual input. The company plans to release the model's weights publicly on Wednesday.
Researchers analyzed Ox Alpha, a model that appeared on OpenRouter on August 20 without a disclosed developer, using their LineageEval censorship-detection tool. They found its tokenizer matches the GLM-5.x vocabulary exactly across 11 tests, confirming community suspicions that it belongs to the GLM family despite being listed as a third-party product.
A free, high-performing AI model called Ox Alpha appeared on OpenRouter this week, listed only as a 'stealth model' built by an anonymous third party for coding and agentic tasks.
