GoKawiilParis court rejects Canal+ bid to fine Cloudflare over 1.1.1.1 piracy blocking
A Paris Judicial Court has sided with Cloudflare in a dispute with French broadcaster Canal+, rejecting a request for 50,000-euro-per-day penalties over the company's refusal to block pirate sports streams through its 1.1.1.1 DNS resolver. Cloudflare continues to block such sites only through its CDN service, geoblocking 1,238 domains in France in the second half of 2025 under a single court order, while leaving its DNS resolver untouched.
