GoKawiilComics say Maniscalco's SiriusXM channel cut royalties and airtime for newcomers
SiriusXM relaunched its Raw Comedy channel in April as Sebastian Maniscalco's Comedy Radio, curated and headlined by Maniscalco himself. The nonprofit Stand Up for Standup reports that the pool of comics receiving airplay on the channel has shrunk from over 800 to about 275 since March, with spins now concentrated among a handful of famous names. Comedians including Patton Oswalt, Margaret Cho and Dan Soder have publicly criticized the change, saying it cuts off visibility and royalty income for emerging stand-ups.
