GoKawiilZach Cregger's Resident Evil reboot leans on comedy to power its horror
Zach Cregger's new Resident Evil film reimagines Capcom's franchise around Bryan, an invented medical courier played by Austin Abrams, who gets pulled into a zombie outbreak while making a delivery run near Raccoon City. Unlike Paul W.S. Anderson's earlier film series, this version pares the story down and blends comedy with genuine scares rather than expanding an elaborate mythology.
