GOG lets buyers download and print retro 'big box' PC game packaging

GOG has launched a 'Printable Big Box' collection offering downloadable 3D models and print-ready templates recreating classic big-box packaging for five titles: Armikrog, Descent, Hitman: Codename 47, Myst, and Star Trek: 25th Anniversary. Owners of these games can grab a ZIP file with an animated GLB 3D model and flat templates in PDF, SVG, and Illustrator formats to build their own papercraft replicas.

Nexus Mods acquires independent Steam database SteamDB

Nexus Mods, the largest PC mod-sharing platform, has purchased SteamDB, the long-running independent site that tracks Steam pricing, updates and player data. The deal followed talks with xPaw, the sole maintainer of SteamDB, who was seeking more resources and stability than he could provide on his own. SteamDB will keep its name and current look for now, with Nexus Mods handling infrastructure and funding behind the scenes.

12TB leak exposes decade of pre-2013 Steam build history

A massive 12TB torrent dubbed the Steam 'teraleak' has surfaced online, containing thousands of game depots from Valve's old Steam2 content distribution system used between 2003 and 2013. The trove includes public release builds as well as previously unseen prototype, pre-release, and playtest versions of games from Valve and third-party publishers. Data miner Gabe Follower says the material was pulled from a publicly accessible API endpoint, suggesting the exposure originated from Valve's own systems rather than a hack.
