Uber has started mapping Manchester streets using self-driving technology from partners Pony and Verne, with a safety driver present but no passengers onboard. The companies previously launched Europe's first autonomous taxi service in Zagreb, and Uber already runs limited passenger robotaxi trials in London using Wayve vehicles under TfL licensing rules.
Uber and Chinese autonomous vehicle firm Pony.ai announced plans to begin testing their Gen-7 robotaxis in London within weeks. This move expands their partnership, which initially focused on the Middle East and now includes European markets, with a goal to deploy 2,000 vehicles across several cities. The companies have not disclosed who will own or operate the London fleet, but the initiative continues Uber’s broader strategy to develop autonomous ride-hailing services globally.
Humble Bundle is selling Steam keys for Daniel Mullins' deckbuilder Inscryption at $7.99, down from its usual $20 price, for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The sale comes as Mullins teased a sequel to another of his titles, Pony Island, called Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, at Gamescom 2026.
