The device autonomously cleans pool floors, walls and waterlines using adaptive path navigation and vision-based obstacle detection, while offering a suction rate of 6,800 gallons per hour that it can adjust to avoid dislodging larger debris.

The device cleans pool floors, walls, waterlines and shallow platforms using adaptive path navigation and vision-based obstacle detection, and can adjust suction strength depending on debris size.
Roborock unveiled the RockAqua P1, its debut robotic pool-cleaning device that scrubs floors, walls, and shallow ledges while filtering roughly 6,800 gallons of water per hour and running up to 3.5 hours per charge. The company also announced the RockNeo Q2 LiDAR, an upgraded robotic lawnmower using LiDAR navigation instead of GPS/RTK, alongside new home vacuum models including a Saros 2o with a roller mop. Pricing and availability for the pool robot in the US have not yet been disclosed.
New testing of robotic pool vacuums shows that suction strength, measured in gallons of water pulled through per hour, matters less than how efficiently a robot navigates and targets debris. This year's test batch included models with AI-powered cameras and sensors that detect debris and redirect the robot toward it, a first for these tests. Corded models like the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus generally outperformed cordless ones like the Aiper Scuba V3 due to continuous power for repeated cleaning cycles.
