Apple has begun updating order statuses in the Apple Store app to 'shipped' for customers who pre-ordered the iPhone Duo with an October 23 delivery estimate, the device's official launch day in stores. Order tracking moves through stages including Processing, Preparing to Ship, Shipped, and Delivered, visible under the For You tab.
Supply chain sources cited by DigiTimes say Apple has increased iPhone Duo production orders by more than 40%, raising its 12-month shipment target from 9.7 million to 14 million units. The move follows what Apple called 'extraordinary' pre-order demand that caused delivery estimates to slip into late January within minutes of launch.
