Meta announced it will stop developing new features for the Quest 2 and Quest Pro, with final OS updates arriving in March 2027 and security patches continuing through the end of that year. Developers have until December 2027 to submit new apps for the devices, though existing apps can still be updated afterward. Meta says purchased apps and cross-play with the Quest 3 and Quest 3S will remain available beyond that cutoff.
Valve has stopped making its original Index VR headset and is clearing remaining stock at a 20% discount, including accessories like the tether, base station and controller. A full set of individual components now totals $741, down from $926, though the bundled package is no longer sold. The move comes shortly after Valve launched the Index's successor, the Steam Frame, starting at $1,060.
A developer named Antelo has published ldraw-nova, an open-source tool that lets an AI agent take a user's model idea and build it into a LEGO design using the LDraw format. The output includes source code, a Blender-editable glTF file, multiple viewing options including a VR mode for Meta Quest 3, and a log of the agent's chat and reasoning process. The project is distributed via Docker and relies on a companion semantic search tool called jev-rerank, built by the same author, to help agents find matching parts and reference models.
