GoKawiilBroadcom's Tanzu Unit Launches TrueSource to Curate Open-Source Libraries
Broadcom is rolling out an initiative called TrueSource under its Tanzu division to vet and secure open-source components used alongside its platform, covering Spring, RabbitMQ, and various Java, Python, and Node.js libraries. Tanzu VP Purnima Padmanabhan said the company builds and curates these artifacts itself, ensuring they meet a reference architecture and remain supportable, while a VMware spokesperson added that Broadcom will contribute fixes upstream and defer to community maintainers as the ultimate source of truth for projects it doesn't directly maintain.
