Samsung Wallet adds Rakuten-powered cash back feature in the US

Samsung has launched "Samsung Wallet Perks" in partnership with Rakuten, letting users earn cash back from thousands of US retailers including LEGO, Sephora, Expedia, PetSmart, Gap, and Lands' End. The rewards are deposited into a user's Samsung Cash Card, which can then be used to pay for purchases or transferred to other users via NFC tap.

Amazon's Kindle Click joins Kobo Remote in page-turning accessory market

Amazon has launched the Kindle Click, a Bluetooth page-turning remote, more than a year after Rakuten's Kobo introduced its own Kobo Remote. Both devices let readers flip pages without touching their ereader's screen, useful for reading in bed or while exercising, and both offer an optional wrist lanyard. Despite similar basic functionality, the two accessories differ in price, design, battery setup and device compatibility.
