Developer CursedIfElse's SharpEmu emulator now runs 10 tested PS5 games in a playable state, with six hitting 60fps, including Astro Bot and the Demon's Souls remaster. Separately, KytyPS5, a new offshoot of the PS4 emulator Kyty, launched its first public build last week and already lists 134 titles with controllable gameplay, though many still have game-breaking bugs. A third project, AnyPS5, takes a different approach by relinking original PS5 executable code to run natively on PC rather than fully emulating the console.

Nintendo's ongoing "Customer Appreciation" sale, running through September 26th, has dropped the digital price of Metroid Prime Remastered for Switch and Switch 2 to $27.99 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, down from a physical retail price of about $42. Sega previewed Crazy Taxi: World Tour, a modern remake of its Dreamcast-era arcade classic, at a Los Angeles press event. The new version keeps the original's frantic fare-pickup gameplay and alt-rock soundtrack but expands into multiple game modes, including a free-roaming sandbox mode set across international locations like Germany. The title is slated for release in 2027.

CD Projekt Red announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live that a remastered version of The Witcher 3, bundled with both existing expansions, launches September 29 as a free upgrade for current owners. Switch owners will also get a complimentary upgrade path to the Switch 2 version. The remaster brings visual improvements plus reworked skill trees, combat, camera, targeting, movement and mount handling.
