Apple's iOS 27 update introduces four upgrades to the Mail app: a new ranking system for more relevant search results, expanded suggestion cards that now support third-party apps, Smart Reply responses tailored to a user's personal writing style, and new Ask Siri buttons offering AI capabilities throughout the app.
The Austrian Academy of Science, working with French AI lab Mistral and tech firm Sail Reply, has released Apollo, described as the first large language model built specifically for Ancient Greek. Trained on roughly 600 million words from manuscripts, papyri and inscriptions, it will be offered free to scholars through a chatbot interface to help them locate relevant fragments and reconstruct damaged texts.
A developer has released an update to the Textlog app that removes reply counts, follower/following numbers, and post timestamps from the interface. The stated goal is to eliminate features that enable tracking when someone was active or biasing readers toward newer content over older posts.
