Oura has confirmed that its firmware version 2.13.1 update is causing some Ring 4 devices to stop syncing with the companion app. The company says the issue arises when users switched phones after initial ring setup without performing a factory reset, and typically blocks syncing for a day or two. Oura notes that placing the ring on its charger and opening the app resolves the problem.
The Redox operating system project has finished a grant-funded phase of work implementing ring buffer communication at the system task level, modeled on Linux's io_uring. The team built an io_uring/liburing-like API for applications, ring buffer machinery for system services and drivers, supporting async executor crates, and performance improvements to speed switching between applications and services.
