Asus has released the ROG Swift PG27UCWM, a 27-inch 4K gaming monitor built on its new Tandem RGB Stripe OLED panel technology. It supports 240Hz refresh at 4K (480Hz at 1080p), HDR10, Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR 400, and Adaptive-Sync, with a claimed 0.03ms response time. Reviewers found it delivers sharp imagery and strong gaming performance, positioning it among the top 27-inch 4K OLED displays currently available.
ASUS revealed three new 24.5-inch gaming monitors under its Ace lineup: the 720Hz ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace with a Tandem WOLED panel and Dolby Vision support, and two QD-OLED models, the 560Hz XG259QDPG Ace and 360Hz XG259QDNS Ace, both featuring a new anti-glare 'BlackShield' film. The PG259QWS Ace launches in early Q4 for $1,099, while pricing and availability for the QD-OLED models remain unannounced except for the previously shown XG259QWPG Ace at $699.
Asus's new PG27UCWM monitor uses a tandem RGB Stripe OLED panel at 3840x2160 resolution, a conventional sub-pixel layout that finally solves the text-clarity issues that plagued earlier OLED monitor sub-pixel designs. Color coverage measures 94% DCI-P3 and 89% AdobeRGB, slightly behind top QD-OLED rivals, but the panel's contrast and color volume still place its image quality near the top tier, despite a highly reflective glossy finish that some viewers may dislike.
