Hackers breach Ukraine and Russia emergency apps with fake nuclear attack alerts
On Sunday, hackers compromised Ukraine's Air Alert app and sent false warnings of radioactive and chemical hazards, including a message referencing a Russian hypersonic missile. Shortly after, Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry reported its own app was hit with fake alerts urging citizens to stockpile food and seek shelter from an incoming nuclear strike. Both countries' officials shut down or disabled the compromised systems and urged the public to stay calm.
