GoKawiilCloudflare, VoidZero and Owner.com build tsrs, a Rust port of TypeScript compiler
Cloudflare and VoidZero announced they are collaborating with Max Schwenk of Owner.com on tsrs, a Rust implementation of the TypeScript compiler, built in coordination with the TypeScript team and incubated inside the Oxc JavaScript compiler toolchain. The group says tsrs is not a fork, and early benchmarks show it running up to 8x faster and using about 70% less memory than TypeScript 7.0 under matched worker configurations.
