Study details form factors shaping baryon semileptonic decay measurements
Researchers outline how six transition form factors govern the semileptonic weak decay of hyperons, focusing on the Lambda baryon's decay into a proton, electron and antineutrino. They show that because scalar and pseudoscalar form factors are suppressed by lepton-to-hyperon mass ratios, the electron-antineutrino channel effectively depends on just four form factors and the CKM parameter Vus, allowing a simplified branching ratio formula.
