Shopify unveiled Canvas, a new tool that lets merchants build and customize their online stores by chatting with its AI agent Sidekick instead of manually editing themes or code. The tool renders real store code in real time, letting merchants preview full interactivity, animations, and responsive layouts as changes are made. Merchants can still click and edit elements directly, but the primary interface is conversational.
Sidekick has introduced a desktop application that actively supports patients during telehealth consultations by explaining medical terminology and highlighting questions. After the appointment, it consolidates the conversation, questions, and next steps into a single accessible summary. A mobile version is planned for future release to support in-person and telehealth visits on smartphones.
Google is rolling out a new way to trigger the Sidekick overlay in Play Games, letting users open it directly from the notifications panel instead of relying solely on the onscreen drag handle. The option appears under Settings > General > Google Play Games as 'Configure Sidekick access,' alongside the existing in-game-only setting. Evidence also points to a double-tap activation method still in development.
