Apple unveiled HomeView, a $299 smart home display with a 7-inch screen for controlling accessories, FaceTime calls, and media. The company says it supports select third-party audio and video apps, but fine print in its press release reveals these require a 'paired and compatible iPhone nearby,' a detail missing from its main product page.
Apple has introduced HomeView, a square-shaped screen designed for controlling smart home devices. The device also supports hands-free FaceTime video calls and gives users access to Siri for voice commands.
Apple's new HomeView smart home display costs $299 in either a speaker-base or wall-mounted version, but the wall-mounted model doesn't include a mount or power solution. Buyers must separately purchase one of three Schneider Home mounts, priced from $59.95 to $129.95, with the priciest PoE option not arriving until early 2027.
