Google's Snapseed photo editor is rolling out several new features to beta testers, including support for custom look-up tables (LUTs), Depth/Portrait Blur alongside the previously spotted Motion Blur, and a way to save personal edit configurations as reusable Looks. The update also introduces a Community Looks repository, where users can browse and share preset combinations created by other Snapseed users.
Snapseed version 4.1.6 for Android now includes a Color Grade tool that lets users adjust tones and colors for specific artistic effects, along with a dedicated search bar to help locate editing tools among the app's many options. The update also swaps the app's old googly-eyed loading animation for a new leaf fan spinner design.
Google rolled out a new location metadata API for Android's Photo Picker in its August Mainline update, and Snapseed (version 4.1.5.970833206) is the first app to adopt it. The update adds a prompt asking whether to include an image's location info when selecting it, plus a floating toggle button to quickly enable or disable that metadata sharing.
