Samsung is rolling out One UI 9 Watch to its Galaxy Watch lineup, having already shipped it on the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 and pushed beta versions to the Watch 7 and 8 series. However, because older models only qualify for four major OS upgrades versus five for the newest watches, a couple of devices have aged out and won't receive the update.
Amazon officially stopped software support for Kindle models released before 2013 as of May 20, blocking those devices from buying, borrowing, or downloading new books. Owners of affected ereaders can still preserve existing libraries, sideload books through alternative methods, or repurpose the hardware for other uses rather than discarding it.
Android Authority ran a reader poll asking whether long-term software support is a priority when buying a new phone, drawing 1,455 responses. About 46% called it a top priority, 38% said it matters but isn't a dealbreaker, and roughly 16% said price matters more than software longevity.
