Study: NASA's Artemis II rocket launch disrupted ionosphere, affected GPS signals

A study published in Geophysical Research Letters found that NASA's Space Launch System rocket launch for the Artemis II lunar mission created large-scale disturbances in Earth's ionosphere. Researchers from Taiwan's National Cheng Kung University used ground-based GPS receiver data to show the launch altered free-electron concentrations in the upper atmosphere on three separate occasions, triggering shock waves across North America.
