Comfy Desktop is a desktop application that manages and launches ComfyUI, the node-based engine used to run generative AI models like Qwen, Stable Diffusion, SDXL, Flux and Wan locally. It automates installation of Python environments, GPU dependencies and updates, letting users run multiple isolated ComfyUI setups side by side with snapshot and rollback support across Windows, macOS and Linux.
Linum has begun detailing its work on Linum v3, the successor to its open-weight text-to-video model released in January, in a new blog series. The company says its focus is on three goals: improving how well outputs follow prompts, speeding up training and inference, and making generated physics more consistent, while arguing that most recent progress in image and video generation comes from better data practices rather than new model architectures.
Stability AI, maker of the Stable Diffusion image generator, closed a $76 million Series B round, pushing its total funding to $232 million. Backers include Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group, Electronic Arts, AMD Ventures, and Pacific Alliance Ventures. CEO Prem Akkaraju said the funds will support the company's creative production tools and professional services expansion.
A developer explored the world of stylized QR codes, noting how logos and photos are often crammed into codes at the cost of scannability due to Reed-Solomon error correction limits. Inspired by AI-generated and hand-crafted QR art examples, they built their own design tool called QRFrame, which changes how the black-and-white modules are rendered while keeping codes functional.
