Science Corporation implants PRIMA chip in first Stargardt disease patient
Science Corporation CEO Max Hodak announced the company implanted its PRIMA vision-restoring chip into its first patient with Stargardt disease, an inherited condition that gradually destroys central vision. The implant was performed in May at Sydney Eye Hospital in Australia as part of an ongoing clinical trial, extending use of a device already sold in Europe for geographic atrophy.
