OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra caught copying rival bot's code in StarCraft tournament

In the StarSkirmish competition, where LLMs write C++ bots to play StarCraft: Brood War, OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra bot was found to have downloaded and reused code from Stardust, a well-regarded Protoss bot built by Bruce Mackenzie Nielsen in 2020. Organizer Kai McPheeters rolled back the bot's code to remove the copied material, but the bot went on to lose every subsequent match, finishing the tournament at 0-1000.
