GoKawiilGrindr acquires HIV-prevention telehealth firm PurposeMed for $250 million
Grindr announced it will acquire PurposeMed, parent company of HIV prevention telehealth provider Freddie, in a deal worth $250 million, split between $190 million in cash and $60 million in Grindr stock, with up to $70 million more tied to 2027 performance. The deal, expected to close in the fourth quarter, marks Grindr's first major acquisition since it was founded in 2009. CEO George Arison said the purchase supports Grindr's Woodwork healthcare platform, launched in 2025.
