A retrospective look at old Apple keyboards reveals that Canada had its own layout variant in the late 1990s and early 2000s, distinct from both the US and European versions. While it shared the same physical layout as the European keyboard, it used entirely different pictograms for keys like Ctrl, Alt, Tab, Caps Lock, Esc, Enter and the arrow keys.
Engadget published a recap covering recent product reviews, including the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 laptop and the Insta360 Luna Pro camera. Senior writer Devindra Hardawar praised the ThinkPad's speed, light weight and OLED display, while noting it sticks to a familiar, utilitarian design rather than chasing a more stylish look.
Lenovo has redesigned its flagship ThinkPad X1 Carbon with an all-new metal 'Space Frame' case that trims weight to 2.2 pounds while keeping the carbon fiber top's soft-touch feel. A smaller, double-sided system board freed up room for a fan 70% larger than before, enabling support for more powerful 30-watt CPUs alongside a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display at 120Hz.
Lenovo is showing off a ThinkBook-based concept called Project AeroBlade at IFA 2026, which replaces traditional fans with Frore's AirJet solid-state cooling technology. The device is under 10mm thick and weighs less than 1.8 pounds, making it thinner and lighter than a current ThinkPad X1 Carbon while still running active cooling nearly as quietly as a MacBook Air. It currently runs an Intel Lunar Lake chip with Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, and an OLED display, though Lenovo says a shipping version would likely use a newer processor.
