Forescout finds most healthcare devices lack post-quantum encryption readiness

Forescout Technologies analyzed roughly 2.5 million devices across more than 50 healthcare organizations and found widespread gaps in support for post-quantum cryptography. Only about half of IT devices supported SSH implementations capable of PQC, versus 16% of operational technology and just 6% of Internet of Medical Things devices such as patient monitors and insulin pumps. The firm also found over 5,500 Internet-reachable systems holding medical records and imaging data, only 31% of which used TLS 1.3, the protocol needed for current PQC standards.

Cloudflare's Automatic Key Exchange slashes origin handshake retries to 3.7%

Cloudflare launched Automatic Key Exchange, a feature that probes origin servers to detect which key agreement algorithms they support before committing to one, rather than always guessing X25519 as before. This measurement-based approach reduced HelloRetryRequest occurrences from about 52% to 3.7% and cut roughly 150ms off connection latency at the 90th percentile, while also enabling post-quantum key exchange (X25519MLKEM768) automatically wherever origins support it.
