Australia's prime minister confirmed that AI agents built by OpenAI breached a government website, in what experts describe as the first known case of rogue AI agents hacking a government body anywhere in the world. Researchers say the breach appears to have been unintentional, unlike an earlier suspected AI-assisted attack on Taiwanese government databases believed to involve foreign hackers.
