GoKawiilJulia 1.13 cuts package precompile time by 30%, speeds startup 22%
The Julia programming language team has shipped version 1.13, which reduces package precompilation time by roughly 30% compared to 1.12 and 10-20% versus the 1.10 LTS release, depending on hardware. Startup time also improved by about 20%, with benchmarks showing 1.13 launching in 56.7ms versus 69.1ms for 1.12. The release also introduces systematic tracking of Time To First X (TTFX) metrics through new CI jobs and a public dashboard at perf.julialang.org/ttfx.
