The upgrade supports audio over USB, the original 3.5mm jack, AirPlay and Google Cast streaming, podcast downloads, and on the Pi model, Spotify and Apple Music apps. It works only with 3rd- and 4th-generation iPods and the iPod mini, and will launch via a Crowd Supply crowdfunding campaign with pricing not yet announced.

Apple's new foldable iPhone, the Duo, has distinct dimensions—164.6 by 117.8 by 5.2 mm unfolded and 84.1 by 117.8 by 11.3 mm folded—that make most existing cases, screen protectors, car mounts and lens attachments incompatible. USB-C peripherals and most wireless chargers still work with the device, and Apple has released dimensional drawings to manufacturers so new accessories can be built to fit.
Microsoft introduced Magnetic Connect, a magnetic charging solution for its new Surface Laptop Ultra that pairs a Power Delivery USB-C port with a magnetic cable using a funnel-shaped tip for easy alignment. Unlike Apple's proprietary MagSafe port, the underlying port remains standard USB-C, meaning it can be used for monitors, keyboards, phones or other peripherals when not charging. It includes a built-in speaker, stereo line-out for external audio equipment, and USB audio streaming of each of the Game Boy's four sound channels, plus the ability to back up ROMs, save data, and export music as WAV files. Only a handful of prototypes exist currently, and the device is not yet for sale.
